Each year, the Country Music Association recognizes a music industry veteran who’s shown leadership in touring and contributed significantly to the live music business. This year, CMA is recognizing our very own, Brian O’Connell (President – Live Nation Nashville) with the esteemed honor. Brian has been the key player behind the biggest tours in the business for major acts including Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw – and now Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley. On top of that, he’s created over a half a dozen country festivals.

This month Ticketmaster released 'Action' on the Google Assistant platform in the US. This integration opens up even more opportunities for fans to discover events and purchase tickets. By using Ticketmaster on Google Assistant, fans can voice search for events using event dates, location, genres or specific artists. This new functionality will bring the Ticketmaster buying experience to a whole new platform on mobile devices and will expand to other devices powered by Google Assistant in the coming months. Live Nation and Netflix have announced the release of Gaga: Five Foot Two, an intimate and unfettered portrait of a year in the life of Lady Gaga. The documentary was selected to premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will launch simultaneously in all 190 countries in which Netflix is available on September 22nd.
